Regular Season Round 25: Maccabi Raanana - Maccabi H/H 87-81

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Hasharon (8-17) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Maccabi Raanana (17-8) 87-81. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Maccabi Raanana players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American forward Wayne Langston (201-93, college: Murray St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 12 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Samme Givens (198-89, college: Drexel) accounted for 15 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. American guard Vernon Teel (193-87, college: Loyola Mary) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals and Yotam Shiran (198-90) added 23 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Hasharon in the defeat. Four Hasharon players scored in double figures. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Maccabi Raanana. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Elitzur K-A and Hapoel B/S. Hasharon lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. Maccabi Raanana will play against bottom-ranked Hapoel Migd.H. (#14) in Tarshicha in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Hasharon will play at home against the league's second-placed Maccabi Rehovot and hopes to get back on the winning track.
