Regular Season Round 26: Gravelines - Limoges 72-66

An interesting game took place in Gravelines where higher ranked Limoges CSP Elite (14-12) was upset on the court of twelfth ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (12-14) 72-66. It looked good early as Limoges CSP Elite took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Gravelines-Dunkerque had a 25-14 second period charge getting the lead and Limoges CSP Elite was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 66-72. Gravelines-Dunkerque brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. American Chris Johnson (198-90, college: Dayton) notched 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and the other American import guard Ian Miller (190-91, college: Florida St.) supported him with 20 points. Even 11 points and 8 rebounds by international center Mouhammadou Jaiteh (208-94) did not help to save the game for Limoges CSP Elite. American point guard Dru Joyce (182-85, college: Akron) added 12 points and 5 assists for the guests. Four Limoges CSP Elite players scored in double figures. Limoges CSP Elite's coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Gravelines-Dunkerque maintains twelfth position with 12-14 record. Limoges CSP Elite at the other side dropped to the fifth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Gravelines-Dunkerque will play against higher ranked Le Portel (#10) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Limoges CSP Elite will play against JDA Dijon (#4) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
