Regular Season Round 26: Pau-Lacq-Orthez - Le Portel 77-72

There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Le Portel (13-13) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (13-13) 77-72 on Tuesday. Le Portel trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 21-14 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 72-77 at the end of the game. The best player for the winners was American swingman Chris Dowe (191-91, college: Bellarmine) who scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import guard Taqwa Pinero (191-83, college: Louisville, agency: Two Points) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists. Four Pau-Lacq-Orthez players scored in double figures. American guard Trae Golden (189-91, college: Georgia Tech) produced 21 points and 7 assists and naturalized Burkinabe Jean-Victor Traore (203-85) added 18 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the guests. Pau-Lacq-Orthez moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Levallois and Le Portel. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will meet higher ranked JSF Nanterre (#7) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Le Portel will play against Gravelines-Dunkerque and hope to secure a win.
