Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Joensuun Kataja (22-18) defeated at home 10th ranked UU-Korihait (7-32) 107-96. The game was mostly controlled by Joensuun Kataja. UU-Korihait was better in third quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded UU-Korihait 42-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. Joensuun Kataja players were unselfish on offense dishing 34 assists. American swingman Wesley Saunders (196-93, college: Harvard) nailed a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and the former international forward Alex Murphy (206-93, college: Northeastern, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) accounted for 25 points and 7 rebounds. Joensuun Kataja's coach Greg Gibson allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Kevin Bracy-Davis (201, college: Davis & Elkins) came up with 29 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Sean OBrien (198-94, college: S.Illinois) added 12 points and 15 rebounds respectively for UU-Korihait in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Pyrinto. UU-Korihait lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 32 games lost.
