Regular Season Round 21: Kalev/Cramo - Rapla 84-70

An interesting game for Kalev/Cramo (24-1) which hosted in Tallinn 3rd placed Rapla (15-10). First ranked Kalev/Cramo managed to get a 14-point victory 84-70. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Rapla. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 84-70. Kalev/Cramo outrebounded Rapla 38-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Dutch center Thomas vanderMars (208-90, college: Portland) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and Montenegrin forward Bojan Subotic (203-90) accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Kalev/Cramo players scored in double figures. American guard Nolan Cressler (195-94, college: Vanderbilt, agency: 3Eye) came up with 23 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and the other American import point guard Dominique Hawkins (183-94, college: Kentucky) added 20 points respectively for Rapla in the defeat. Rapla's coach Aivar Kuusmaa rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Kalev/Cramo. Defending champion maintains first place with 24-1 record. Rapla at the other side keeps the third position with ten games lost. Kalev/Cramo's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tallinn TTU.
