Nineteenth-ranked Penarol (9-20) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Atenas (20-10) in Cordoba. Atenas managed to secure only three-point victory 74-71. However their fans expected much easier game. 25 personal fouls committed by Penarol helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Nicolas Romano (200-87) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. American center Jerome Meyinsse (207-88, college: Virginia, agency: Dutt Sports Services) accounted for 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Atenas' coach Nicolas Casalanguida allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game.
