Naestved upset Bakken away from home in the opener. The guests trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 8 points. 24 personal fouls committed by Bakken helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Troy Franklin (183-89, college: Coppin St.) stepped up and scored 26 points and 6 assists for the winners and his fellow American import forward Kazembe Abif (200-92, college: Drexel) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Abif is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side Senegalese center Michel Diouf (208-89) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and American-Trinidad and Tobago forward Devaughn Akoon-Purcell (196-93, college: Illinois St., agency: Slash Sports) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Five Naestved and four Bakken players scored in double figures. Bakken's coach Steffen Wich rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
