Satu Mare cruised past Olimpia Brasov in the semifinal opener. The game without a history. Satu Mare led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Olimpia Brasov's 38. Satu Mare looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Olimpia Brasov's players. Lithuanian swingman Marina Solopova (182-90) nailed a double-double by scoring 14 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists for the winning side and American guard Porchia Green (180-87, college: Ball St.) accounted for 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Satu Mare players scored in double figures. Satu Mare's coach felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American center Kristina Higgins (196-94, college: Baylor) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import guard Aliyyah Handford (175-94, college: St.John's) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Olimpia Brasov in the defeat.
