We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Northbridge where 4th placed Cougars (2-1) were defeated by fifth ranked Redbacks (3-1) 74-69 on Friday. Redbacks made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game, while Cougars only scored seven points from the stripe. The best player for the winners was American forward Kayla Standish (187-89, college: Gonzaga) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Makailah Dyer (175, college: N.Dakota) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Kisha Lee (182-85, college: UNLV) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and forward Isabelle Miotti (178-98) added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Redbacks moved-up to third place in League. Loser Cougars dropped to the fifth position with one game lost. Redbacks will face Eagles (#11) in Morley in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cougars will play on the road against the league's second-placed Magic (#2) in Mandurah and hope to win that game.
