Not a big story in a game in Murcia where 10th ranked Myrtia (12-16) was defeated by third ranked HLA Alicante (20-8) 76-71 on Friday. Worth to mention a great performance of American Amadou Sidibe (203-94, college: Fairfield, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Pedro Rivero (186-79) who added 18 points during the contest. HLA Alicante's coach David Varela used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American center Chris Matagrano (206-90, college: New Hampshire) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and Italian-Argentinian swingman Juan-Ignacio Jasen (196-85) scored 8 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. HLA Alicante maintains third position with 20-8 record having just two points less than leader Granada. Myrtia lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth place with 16 games lost. HLA Alicante will face bottom-ranked Martorell (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Myrtia will play against Albacete (#5) and hope to win that game.
