Not a big story in a game in Valladolid where 9th ranked Blancos de Rueda (15-16) was defeated by sixth ranked Palencia Baloncesto (17-14) 72-67 on Friday. It was a great evening for Serbian Nikola Cvetinovic (203-88, college: Akron) who led his team to a victory scoring 12 points. Power forward Urko Otegui (203-81) helped adding 9 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Henri Wade-Chatman (188-92, college: Edinboro) responded with 19 points and center Sergio De-La-Fuente (198-89) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Palencia Baloncesto maintains sixth place with 17-14 record. Newly promoted Blancos de Rueda keeps the ninth position with 16 games lost. Palencia Baloncesto will face higher ranked CB Prat (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Blancos de Rueda will play against the league's second-placed La ICL Manresa (#2) and hope to win that game.
