Regular Season Round 8: Cerrado - Brusque 79-73

Cerrado's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after eight consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Brusque (1-9) 79-73. Brusque was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Eric Soares (205-86) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds and point guard Paulo Da-Costa (191-94) who added 21 points and 4 steals during the contest. Cerrado's coach Alexandre Jackson allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Anderson de-Almeida (200-96) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and forward Thiago Freitas (210-89) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Brusque players scored in double figures. Cerrado (1-8) left bottom position moving up to eighth place. It was Brusque's ninth loss in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with nine games lost. Cerrado will play against higher ranked Londrina (#3) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Brusque will have a break next round.
