Second Stage Round 6: Brest - GOCOR-Sozh 67-76

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked GOCOR-Sozh and 8th ranked Brest had identical 9-31 record. But Brest was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Gomel 76-67 on Friday night. The game without a history. GOCOR-Sozh led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Power forward Aleksandr Kopacev (203-95) had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Tsimafei Viaroukin (186-93) chipped in 19 points and 10 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Anton Shchurko (188-97) with 23 points and Aliaksei Yanchuk scored 15 points. GOCOR-Sozh (10-31) moved-up to eighth place. Loser Brest dropped to the ninth position with 32 games lost. GOCOR-Sozh will meet at home higher ranked Prinemanye (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Brest will play against Tsmoki II in Minsk and hope to secure a win.
