Regular Season Round 5: Lakeside L. - Kalamunda E.S. 95-65

There was a minor upset in North Lake where 8th ranked Suns (2-4) were outplayed by eighth ranked Lightning (2-2) 95-65 on Friday. Lightning forced 21 Suns turnovers and outrebounded them 56-44 including 24 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Center Jarrad Prue (198-82) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 22 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners and guard Hayden Bell (190-95) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Lightning players scored in double figures. American center Kevin Davis (206-91, college: Cent.Washington) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and power forward Ryan Blanchett (203-96, college: Florida National) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lightning moved-up to seventh place in League. Loser Suns dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. Lightning will face higher ranked Flames (#5) in Rockingham in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Suns will play at home against Hawks (#6) and hope to win that game.
