Regular Season Round 8: Macae - UniFacisa 71-83

Date: April 6, 2018
The game in Macae was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked UniFacisa (6-3) played at the court of 5th ranked Macae (4-5). UniFacisa defeated Macae 83-71 on Friday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Macae. The winners were led by American point guard Farad Cobb (183-93, college: Cincinnati) who scored that evening 25 points and 6 assists and the other American import guard Chris Allen (190-88, college: Iowa St.) supported him with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four UniFacisa players scored in double figures. Even 11 points and 9 rebounds by Joao Mamedes (201-98) did not help to save the game for Macae. American point guard Nate Barnes (178-90, college: Alders.-Broad.) added 14 points and 5 assists for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. UniFacisa maintains fourth position with 6-3 record. Macae at the other side keeps the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with Brasilia. UniFacisa will meet league's leader Corinthians in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Macae will play against the league's leader Corinthians (#1) in Sao Paulo and hope to secure a win.
