Semi-Finals Game 1: Alexandria - Alba Iulia 98-64

The game was mostly controlled by Alexandria. Alba Iulia was better in second period 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Alexandria forced 23 Alba Iulia turnovers and had a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Nigerian-American guard Promise Amukamara (173-93, college: Arizona St.) stepped up and scored 23 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for the winners and American power forward Carla Bartee (182-85, college: Mississippi) chipped in 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Alexandria players scored in double figures. Alexandria's coach Madalin Piperea felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Serbian center Kristina Arsenic (193-97) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and the former international Marta Fodor (183-91) scored 19 points and 8 assists (made all of her nine free throws !!!).
