Regular Season Round 27: Fos-Provence - Le Havre 82-81

Thirteenth-ranked STB Le Havre (9-18) gave a tough game to fifth ranked Provence Basket (18-9) in Fos-sur-Mer on Friday. Provence Basket managed to secure only one-point victory 82-81. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-81. The best player for the winners was Ivorian-American swingman Charles Abouo (196-89, college: BYU) who scored 24 points and 8 rebounds. The former international Jordan Aboudou (201-91) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists. Four Provence Basket players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Stacy Davis (198-94, college: Pepperdine) who recorded 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import Ronald Lewis (193-84, college: Ohio St., agency: Pensack Sports) added 22 points and 4 assists respectively. STB Le Havre's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Provence Basket moved-up to fourth place. Loser STB Le Havre keeps the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Caen. Provence Basket will meet Poitiers (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. STB Le Havre will play against Lille Metropole and hope to secure a win.
