Regular Season Round 32: Shiga L-Stars - Kyoto Hannar. 75-77

Fourth-ranked Shiga L-Stars (18-33) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Kyoto Hannar. (31-20) on Saturday. The visitors from Kyoto managed to secure only two-point victory 77-75. However their fans expected easier game. Kyoto Hannar. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American center Joshua Smith (208-92, college: Georgetown) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. The other American import Marcus Dove (206-85, college: Oklahoma St.) contributed with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American-Israeli center DOr Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) replied with 15 points and 9 rebounds and Australian forward Venky Jois (202-93, college: E.Washington) added 9 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Shiga L-Stars. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Kyoto Hannar. maintains second position with 31-20 record having eleven points less than leader Ryukyu GK. Loser Shiga L-Stars keep the fourth place with 33 games lost. Kyoto Hannar. will face Hokkaido L. (#5) in Saporro in the next round. Shiga L-Stars will play at home against Hitachi Sunrockers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
