Second Stage Round 3: Kagoshima - Tokyo Cinq R. 100-93

The game between closely ranked teams ended with Kagoshima's (2-4) home victory over Tokyo Cinq R. (0-6) 100-93. Kagoshima dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Cinq R.'s 42. They outrebounded Tokyo Cinq R. 43-32 including 30 on the defensive glass. Kagoshima players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Darnell Martin (198-91, college: CS Dominguez H.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 6 assists (on 15-of-18 shooting from the field). Bahamas center Gjio Bain (211-85, college: S.Mississippi) accounted for 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. American guard Andre Murray (188-87, college: Portland St.) came up with 29 points and 8 rebounds and Senegalese Bira Seck (204-90, college: Idaho, agency: Interperformances) added 22 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Tokyo Cinq R. in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Kagoshima's next round opponent will be Saitama Broncos (#4) on the road. Tokyo Cinq R.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tokyo Tokyo Excel..
