Regular Season Round 28: L'Hospitalet - Real Canoe 73-71

A very interesting game took place in Hospitalet. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 9th ranked Real Canoe (13-15) to seventh ranked L'Hospitalet (16-12) 73-71 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Real Canoe. Real Canoe was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 32-27 second half run of L'Hospitalet. It was a very good performance for Cameroonian center Johan Bitjaa-Kody (207-93, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). American guard Devin Schmidt (193, college: Delta St.) contributed with 15 points for the winners. L'Hospitalet's coach Jorge Tarragona allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Jose-Miguel Perez (202-96) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and center Jose-Maria Gil (207-91, agency: Dynamics Global Management) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Real Canoe. Four Real Canoe players scored in double figures. L'Hospitalet have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place. Newly promoted Real Canoe keeps the ninth position with 15 games lost. L'Hospitalet's next round opponent will be Cambados (#12) on the road where they are favorite. Real Canoe will play against the league's second-placed La Roda and hope to win that game.
