Very predictable result when fourth ranked GDKO Bizkaia (19-6) rolled over 10th ranked Lima-Horta (8-17) in Galdakao 80-35 on Saturday. The game without a history. GDKO Bizkaia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Lima-Horta to just 4 points in second quarter and to 12 points in first half. GDKO Bizkaia held Lima-Horta to an opponent 23.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 50.8 percent accuracy of the winners. GDKO Bizkaia forced 23 Lima-Horta turnovers and outrebounded them 40-28 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for forward Grace Alonso-de-Armino (178-92, college: Freed-Hardeman, agency: ProDep Management) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 rebounds. Swingman Maria Espana (180-92) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Guard Laura Lopez (171-85) answered with 7 points and forward Mireia Daura (185, college: Fair Dickinson) added 6 points in the effort for Lima-Horta. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. GDKO Bizkaia moved-up to second place in Group A, which they share with Ensino and Aros Patatas. Lima-Horta lost their ninth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 17 games lost. GDKO Bizkaia will face Joventut LC (#5) in Barcelona in the next round. Lima-Horta will play at home against ADBA (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
