Regular Season Round 51: Hiroshima D. - Ehime OV 84-87

Another exciting game for Orange Vikings (27-23) which played in Hiroshima against Dragonflies (26-24). Third ranked Orange Vikings saved the game by a tiny margin of three points 87-84. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Dragonflies. They outrebounded Dragonflies 46-32 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for Vincentian power forward Nyika Williams (203-87, college: Pacific) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds. Toshino Yoshihiko (186-92) helped adding 21 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Hiromu Kitagawa (182-91) with 12 points and 5 assists and American forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Orange Vikings maintains third place with 27-23 record having four points less than leader Akita NH. Dragonflies at the other side keep the fourth position with 24 games lost. Orange Vikings will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Dragonflies will play again at home against Orange Vikings (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
