Regular Season Round 32: Shimane SM - Osaka Evessa 69-78

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Osaka Evessa (19-32) beat on the road 6th ranked Shimane Magic (8-43) 78-69 on Saturday. Osaka Evessa made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game, while Shimane Magic only scored seven points from the stripe. Shimane Magic was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds. The former international forward Naoya Kumagae (194-90) contributed with 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American-Panamanian forward Gyno Pomare (203-86, college: San Diego) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized Brazilian forward Kazuya Hatano (192-82) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Shimane Magic. Four Shimane Magic players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Osaka Evessa have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 19-32 record having twenty three points less than leader Ryukyu GK. Shimane Magic lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth place with 43 games lost. Osaka Evessa will face Yokohama BC (#6) at home in the next round. Shimane Magic will play against the league's leader Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya and hope to win that game.
