Regular Season Round 22: Alkar - Cibona 88-99

Very predictable result in Sinj where third ranked Cibona (15-5) defeated 10th ranked Alkar (5-15) 99-88. The game was mostly controlled by Cibona. Alkar was better in third quarter 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Alkar was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international center Luka Zoric (211-84) notched a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Serbian guard Branislav Ratkovica (192-85, agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 13 points and 10 assists. Cibona's coach Ante Nazor allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 27 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists by American point guard Dajuan Graf (183-92, college: N.C.Central) did not help to save the game for Alkar. His fellow American import center LJ Booth (206, college: Robert Morris) added 20 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Four Alkar players scored in double figures. Cibona maintains third position with 15-5 record having four points less than leader Cedevita, which they share with GKK Sibenik. Alkar lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 15 games lost. Cibona's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Zagreb Cedevita.
