Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Joventut LC (14-11) outplayed on the road 14th ranked Oviedo (2-23) 93-51 on Saturday. The game without a history. Joventut LC led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Oviedo's 28. Joventut LC forced 23 Oviedo turnovers. It was a very good performance for Eliana Soriano who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds, 11 assists and 7 steals (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Center Cristina Soriano (196, college: Monroe Coll.) contributed with 14 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 9 steals for the winners. Five Joventut LC players scored in double figures. Forward Pamela Moral (175-82, agency: ProDep Management) answered with 19 points and power forward Silvia Urdiales (185-89) added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Oviedo. The victory was the third consecutive win for Joventut LC. They maintain fifth place in Group A with 14-11 record, which they share with Cortegada and Rioja. Loser Oviedo keeps the fourteenth position with 23 games lost. Joventut LC will face higher ranked GDKO Bizkaia (#4) in Galdakao in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Oviedo will play on the road against the league's leader Real Celta Vigo (#1) and hope to win that game.
