Regular Season Round 25: Barca CBS - Aros Patatas 61-63

Sixth-ranked Barca CBS (13-12) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Aros Patatas (19-6) in Barcelona. The visitors from Leon managed to secure only two-point victory 63-61. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-11. But Barca CBS won second period 28-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guard Victoria Vine (173-95, college: Eckerd) stepped up and scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and power forward Itsaso Conde (185-96) chipped in 9 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side Paula Curto responded with 18 points and point guard Lucia Pablos (172-85, college: Northeastern) scored 10 points. Barca CBS's coach Mateo Rubio rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Aros Patatas maintains second place in Group A with 19-6 record behind leader RC Celta, which they share with Ensino and GDKO Bizkaia. Barca CBS lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth position with 12 games lost. Aros Patatas will play against Cortegada (#7) in Vilagarcia Arousa in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Barca CBS will play on the road against Rioja in Azkoitia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
