Regular Season Round 28: Aquimisa LZ - Navarra 86-82
Date: April 7, 2018
An interesting game took place in Zamora where higher ranked Navarra (15-13) was upset on the court of fifteenth ranked Zamorano (9-19) 86-82 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Navarra. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Adrian Mendez (195-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and center Christopher Iza (206-95) who added 12 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side point guard Arturo Cruz (180-93, agency: Dynamics Global Management) responded with 19 points, 6 assists and 5 steals (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and American guard Kris Davis (188-93, college: SIU Edwardsville) scored 21 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Navarra's coach David Mangas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Zamorano maintains fifteenth position with 9-19 record. Loser Navarra dropped to the seventh place with 13 games lost. Zamorano will face higher ranked Fundacion 5+11 (#11) in Baskonia in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
