Regular Season Round 28: La Roda - Albacete 71-75

The most important game in the last round took place in La Roda between second ranked La Roda (21-7) and fifth ranked Albacete (17-11) on Saturday night. La Roda was defeated by Albacete in a tough game at home 71-75. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of La Roda. La Roda was trailing by 10 points at halftime but managed to get 9-point lead after three quarters before a 27-14 charge of Albacete, which allowed them to win the game. Albacete had a 26-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Javier Marin (194-86) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 7 rebounds and American center Babatunde Olumuyiwa (203-92, college: USC Upstate) who added 14 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Albacete's coach Alfredo Galvez used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side point guard Carlos Noguerol (186-93) responded with 11 points and 9 assists and Chadian center Placide Nakidjim (205-94) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Albacete moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Avila. Newly promoted La Roda keeps the second position with seven games lost. Albacete is looking forward to face Myrtia (#10) in Murcia in the next round where they are favorite. La Roda will play on the road against Real Canoe (#9) in Madrid and is hoping to win this game.
