Regular Season Round 24: Koping Stars - AIK Basket 105-85

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Koping. First ranked Koping Stars faced 4th ranked AIK Basket. Host Koping Stars (24-1) smashed guests from Solna (18-8) 105-85. The game was mostly controlled by Koping Stars. AIK Basket was better in fourth quarter 27-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Koping Stars dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to AIK Basket's 36 and made 20-of-26 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded AIK Basket 43-28 including 16 on the offensive glass. Koping Stars players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. AIK Basket was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American guard Austin Price (193, college: Lehigh) who led his team to a victory with 31 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Center Mikael Axelsson (207-94) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Koping Stars players scored in double figures. Koping Stars' coach Panagiotis Nikolaidis allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Turkish guard Erkan Inan (195-89) replied with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Serbian Lazar Radosavljevic (204-91, agency: Alti Sport) added 23 points in the effort for AIK Basket. Koping Stars have an impressive 15-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 24-1 record. AIK Basket lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with eight games lost. Koping Stars will play against Hogsbo (#6) in Goteborg in the next round where they are favorite. AIK Basket will have a break next round.
