Regular Season Round 28: Moncalieri - Cecina 64-76

Everything went according to plan when tenth ranked Cecina (15-13) won against on the road 15th ranked Moncalieri (5-23) 76-64 on Saturday. Cecina made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. The former international forward Mario Gigena (198-77) fired 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized Senegalese Samuel Gaye-Serigne (198-96) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Fabio Delvecchio (194-94) produced 16 points and 5 rebounds and guard Guglielmo De-Ros (185-98) added 17 points respectively for lost side. Moncalieri's coach Marco Spanu tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Cecina moved-up to eighth place in B. Loser Moncalieri keeps the fifteenth position with 23 games lost. Cecina will face league's leader Omegna at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Moncalieri will play against USE Basket (#7) in Empoli and hope to win that game.
