Regular Season Round 24: Djurgarden - LF Future 95-89

Date: April 7, 2018
No shocking result in a game in Stockholm where second ranked Djurgarden (20-5) defeated bottom-ranked LF Future (2-22) 95-89 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. LF Future trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 30-21 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 89-95 at the end of the game. Djurgarden looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Brandon Barton (192-88) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Serbian center Dragoljub Kitanovic (203-85, agency: BeoBasket) who added 20 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Djurgarden's coach Charles Barton used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Brian Curry (185-86) with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and naturalized Serbian guard Stefan Zivkovic (185-93) scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. Five Djurgarden and four LF Future players scored in double figures. Djurgarden maintains second position with 20-5 record having four points less than leader Koping Stars, which they share with Wetterbygden. LF Future lost twentieth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 22 lost games. Djurgarden will meet Wetterbygden (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. LF Future will play against Trelleborg (#7) and hope to secure a win.
