Important game to mention about took place in Cagliari. Eleventh ranked Cagliari Academy (13-15) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 10th ranked NPC Rieti (13-15) 84-82 on Saturday evening. They outrebounded NPC Rieti 34-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for American point guard Marcus Keene (180-95, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording 31 points and 4 assists (made all of his eight free throws). The other American import forward Deshawn Stephens (203-89, college: San Diego St., agency: HMS) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Claudio Tommasini (197-91) replied with 21 points and 5 assists and the former international power forward Angelo Gigli (209-83) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for NPC Rieti. Five Cagliari Academy and four NPC Rieti players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Cagliari Academy went down to twelfth position (A2) due to points difference. Cagliari Academy will face higher ranked Bertram Tortona (#6) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
