Regular Season Round 25: CVCD Granada - Valencia 43-73

Date: April 7, 2018
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Valencia (22-3) crushed on the road 9th ranked CVCD Granada (8-17) 73-43 on Saturday. Valencia dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to CVCD Granada's 10. They outrebounded CVCD Granada 48-32 including 33 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for Mali power forward Meiya Tirera (186-86, agency: ProDep Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Center Rebeca Cotano (188-95) contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Rebeca Rodriguez answered with 9 points and 5 rebounds and Pilar Arrivi added 8 points in the effort for CVCD Granada. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the eighteenth consecutive win for Valencia. They keep a position of Group B leader, which they share with Gran Canaria. Newly promoted CVCD Granada keeps the ninth place with 17 games lost. Valencia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Valencia Picken Claret.
