Very predictable result in Pasadena where leader West Adelaide Bearcats (3-0) smashed 7th ranked Sturt Sabres (1-2) 98-74 on Saturday. West Adelaide Bearcats dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Sturt Sabres' 36. It was a great shooting night for West Adelaide Bearcats especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Guard Patrick Thomas (190, college: Mary) stepped up and scored 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and American forward Tobias Dowdell (201-90, college: Alders.-Broad.) chipped in 17 points and 10 rebounds. American point guard Nate Garth (188-89, college: UCSB) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and swingman Tim Klaosen (196-89) scored 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. West Adelaide Bearcats maintains second place in League with 3-0 record having just 2 victories less than leader Albury W.B. Loser Sturt Sabres keep the seventh position with two games lost. West Adelaide Bearcats will face North Adelaide Rockets (#3) in Greenacres in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Sturt Sabres will play on the road against Norwood Flames (#4) in Marden and hope to win that game.
