There was no surprise when 14th ranked Ninane (7-19) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Gent Hawks (13-11) 85-80 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Gent Hawks made 26-of-34 free shots (76.5 percent) during the game. Gent Hawks outrebounded Ninane 36-21 including a 32-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Gent Hawks made 18 blocks. Ninane was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was forward Gregory De Pooter (197-84) who scored 20 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. American guard Brandon Freeman (191-83, college: UALR, agency: Promotex) chipped in 25 points and 7 rebounds. Four Gent Hawks players scored in double figures.
