Regular Season Round 27: Monaco - Chalons-Reims 92-83

Leader Monaco delivered the nineteenth victory on Saturday night. This time they beat 14th ranked Chalons-Reims (11-16) 92-83. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Chalons-Reims won third quarter 22-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Monaco made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American point guard Gerald Robinson (185-89, college: Georgia) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Aaron Craft (188-91, college: Ohio St.) helped adding 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was Icelandic guard Martin Hermannsson (190-94, college: LIU Brooklyn) with 18 points and 5 assists and American forward John Flowers (200-89, college: W.Virginia, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 16 points. Five Monaco and four Chalons-Reims players scored in double figures. Monaco maintains first place with 19-7 record, which they share with Strasbourg. Loser Chalons-Reims keeps the fourteenth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Antibes. Monaco will meet Boulazac Basket (#17) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Chalons-Reims will play against Gravelines-Dunkerque and hope to secure a win.
