Regular Season Round 27: Strasbourg - Levallois 95-80

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked SIG Strasbourg as it allowed them to take a leadership position. SIG Strasbourg defeated 11th ranked Levallois at home 95-80. The game was mostly controlled by SIG Strasbourg. Levallois managed to win fourth quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. SIG Strasbourg looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Levallois helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Gavin Ware (206-93, college: Mississippi St.) who recorded 14 points and point guard Sylvain Francisco (180-97, college: High School) added 10 points and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SIG Strasbourg have a solid series of four victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Monaco. Levallois at the other side dropped to the tenth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Gravelines and Le Portel. Levallois will play next round against Le Portel trying to get back on the winning streak. SIG Strasbourg will try to continue on its current victory against thirteenth ranked Chalon/Saor on the road.
