Regular Season Round 5: Cent.Coast C. - Maitland M. 89-80

Everything went according to plan in Terrigal where leader Crusaders (3-0) beat 7th ranked Maitland Mustangs (1-3) 89-80 on Saturday. Crusaders had a 38-26 advantage in offensive rebounds. Maitland Mustangs were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Callum Jenkins stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and forward James Trustum (192) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. Crusaders' coach used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Jack Edwards responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists and guard James McAnulty (188-91) scored 24 points. Five Maitland Mustangs players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Crusaders went down to third position (League) due to points difference. Loser Maitland Mustangs dropped to the eighth place with three games lost. Crusaders will face Spiders (#7) in Hornsby in the next round. Maitland Mustangs will play on the road against the league's leader Manly Warringah Sea Eagles in Narrabeen and hope to win that game.
