Regular Season Round 27: Ieper - Neufchateau 82-84

A very interesting game took place in Ieper. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 4th placed Ieper (15-11) to twelfth ranked Neufchateau (7-16) 84-82 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. Neufchateau brought some defensive toughness making 19 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Alexis Pierre (178-92) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Center Alexandre Billot (192-88) accounted for 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Neufchateau players scored in double figures. Neufchateau's coach Mathieu Fivet allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Guard Robin Spaens (180-92) came up with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and swingman Robin Mestdagh (195-88, college: E.Kentucky) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Ieper in the defeat. Newly promoted Neufchateau maintains twelfth place with 7-16 record, which they share with Houthalen. Ieper lost their third game in a row. They keep the fourth position with 11 games lost.
