We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when seventh ranked Leeuwarden (8-20) crushed on the road 6th ranked Amsterdam (8-20) 74-55 on Saturday. The game without a history. Leeuwarden led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The winners were led by American guard Emile Blackman (190-94, college: Duquesne) who scored that evening 17 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import David Michaels (201-90, college: Whitman) supported him with 23 points and 5 steals. Even 23 points by the former international swingman Dimeo Van-Der-Horst (197-91) did not help to save the game for Amsterdam. Power forward Jesse Markusse (206-92) added 4 points and 9 rebounds for the hosts. Amsterdam's coach Patrick Faydherbe rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Leeuwarden moved-up to sixth place, which they share with defeated Amsterdam. Leeuwarden will meet higher ranked Leiden (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Amsterdam will play against Zwolle and hope to secure a win.
