Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Oleggio (11-17) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Piombino (18-10) 65-55 on Saturday. Piombino outrebounded Oleggio 39-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. Oleggio was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Alessio Iardella (188-88, agency: Players Group) fired 20 points for the winners. Edoardo Fontana (193-98) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Andrea Marusic (200-89) produced 14 points and 8 rebounds and forward Edoardo Gallazzi (200-86) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Oleggio's coach Franco Passera tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Piombino moved-up to fourth place in B, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Oleggio dropped to the tenth position with 17 games lost. Piombino will face higher ranked Super Flavor M. (#3) in Milano in the next round and it may be the game of the week.
