Regular Season Round 28: Montegrano - GSA Udine 81-65

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked GSA Udine's (16-12) road loss to fourth ranked Montegrano (18-10) in Montenegrano 65-81 on Sunday. Montegrano shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by GSA Udine's players. It was a very good performance for American Marshawn Powell (201-90, college: Arkansas, agency: HMS) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Luca Campogrande (198-96) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Montegrano players scored in double figures. American Kyndall Dykes (192-87, college: New Orleans) replied with 19 points and 4 assists and center Francesco Pellegrino (210-91) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for GSA Udine. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Montegrano maintains fourth position in A2 with 18-10 record. Loser GSA Udine dropped to the sixth place with 12 games lost. Montegrano will face Imola (#10) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. GSA Udine will play against the league's leader Alma Trieste (#1) and hope to win that game.
