Rather predictable result when second ranked Givova Scafati (20-8) won against at home 5th ranked Bertram Tortona (16-12) 98-91 on Sunday. It was a great shooting night for Givova Scafati especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a very good performance for power forward Marco Ammannato (203-88, agency: Players Group) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 7 assists. British point guard Andrew Lawrence (185-90, college: Charleston, agency: Two Points) contributed with 14 points and 6 assists for the winners. American guard Melvin Johnson (193-93, college: VCU) replied with 22 points and 4 assists and Lithuanian forward Paulius Sorokas (202-92, agency: Octagon Europe) added 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) in the effort for Bertram Tortona. Five Givova Scafati and four Bertram Tortona players scored in double figures. Givova Scafati maintains second position in A2 with 20-8 record behind leader Alma Trieste. Loser Bertram Tortona dropped to the sixth place with 12 games lost. Givova Scafati will face Remer Treviglio (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Bertram Tortona will play against Cagliari Academy (#12) and hope to win that game.
