Regular Season Round 32: Hitachi SR - Toyota Alvark 79-72

There was an upset when second-ranked Toyota Alvark (38-14) lost to sixth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (24-28) in Tokyo 72-79 on Sunday. Canadian center Robert Sacre (213-89, college: Gonzaga) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points and 5 rebounds. International point guard Leo Vendrame (183-93) contributed with 20 points and 5 assists for the winners. American center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) replied with 20 points and 8 rebounds and the former international forward Daiki Tanaka (191-91) added 16 points and 5 assists in the effort for Toyota Alvark. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hitachi Sunrockers maintains sixth position with 24-28 record. Loser Toyota Alvark keeps the second place with 14 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will face higher ranked Shiga L-Stars (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Toyota Alvark will play against the league's second-placed Diamond Dolphins and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
