The game in supposed to be also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Aztks (8-4) played at the court of 5th ranked Reinas (4-8). Aztks smashed Reinas 78-52. Aztks dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Reinas' 30. They outrebounded Reinas 40-23 including a 31-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Cuban center Klavdia Calvo (186-83) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-83) contributed with 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Aztks players scored in double figures. Karen Luna replied with 21 points and 5 steals and the former international Annel Tapia (171-86) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Reinas. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Aztks maintains fourth position with 8-4 record. Reinas at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the fifth place with eight games lost. Aztks' next round opponent will be league's leader Lobas in Ciudad de Mexico and it may be the game of the week. Reinas will play on the road against Mieleras (#3) in Guanajuato and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
