Very important is a home loss of third ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (14-9) against tenth ranked Bnei Hasharon (9-14) on Sunday night. Host Hapoel Jerusalem was defeated by Bnei Hasharon in a tough game in Jerusalem 78-86. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Hapoel Jerusalem. Bnei Hasharon made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Hapoel Jerusalem was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Jeff Adrien (201-86, college: Connecticut) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 10 rebounds. The former international swingman Shawn Dawson (198-93) contributed with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. International power forward Richard Howell (203-90, college: N.Carolina St.) answered with 19 points and 7 rebounds and Greek Stratos Perperoglou (203-84) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Hapoel Jerusalem. Hapoel Jerusalem's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Bnei Hasharon moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Maccabi Rishon and Ironi Nes-Ziona. Defending champion Hapoel Jerusalem keeps the third position with nine games lost. They share it with Maccabi Ashdod. Bnei Hasharon will play against higher ranked Maccabi Ashdod (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hapoel Jerusalem will have a break next round.
