Regular Season Round 52: Sendai 89ers - Iwate Big Bulls 81-79

Sixth-ranked Iwate Big Bulls (7-44) were very close to win a game against fourth ranked Sendai 89ers (19-32). Sendai 89ers managed to secure only two-point victory 81-79. However their fans expected easier game. Sendai 89ers outrebounded Iwate Big Bulls 39-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Kaito Ishikawa (188-90) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 5 assists and U.S. Virgin Islands center Craig Williams (206-89, college: TCU) who added 14 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American center Markhuri Sanders-Frison (203-88, college: California) responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import center Jalen McGaughy (208, college: Dillard) scored 16 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Sendai 89ers maintains fourth position with 19-32 record. Iwate Big Bulls lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 44 games lost. Sendai 89ers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Iwate Big Bulls will play at home against the league's second-placed Fukushima (#2) and hope to get back on the winning track.
