Regular Season Round 32: Chiba Jets - SeaHorses 84-102

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Chiba Jets (38-13) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Aishin Sea Horses (42-9) 102-84. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Chiba Jets. Aishin Sea Horses made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Chiba Jets 33-21 including 21 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Aishin Sea Horses especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The former international center JR Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists. American center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: Appalachian St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Yuki Togashi (170-93) replied with 28 points and 4 assists and American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) added 22 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Chiba Jets. Aishin Sea Horses maintains first position with 42-9 record which they share with defeated Chiba Jets. Chiba Jets at the other side still keep top place with 13 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses are looking forward to face Shimane Magic (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Chiba Jets will play against Nishinomiya S. (#5) and are hoping to win this game.
