Regular Season Round 28: Salerno - Sestu 70-61

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Sestu (8-20) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Salerno (21-7) 70-61 on Sunday. Power forward Paolo Paci (204-90) fired 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Point guard Gennaro Sorrentino (190-85) chipped in 20 points. Guard Domenico Marzaioli (190-91, agency: SPORTlab Agency) produced 18 points and 9 rebounds and Giuliano Samoggia (200-83) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Four Sestu players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Salerno maintains fourth position in B with 21-7 record. Sestu at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth place with 20 games lost. Salerno will face league's second-placed Basket Barcellona on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Sestu will play against Valmontone (#5) and hope to win that game.
