Regular Season Round 23: Maccabi T-A - Maccabi Haifa 80-71

There was no surprise in Tel-Aviv where 12th ranked Maccabi Haifa (7-16) was defeated by second ranked Maccabi T-A (17-6) 80-71. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Maccabi T-A outrebounded Maccabi Haifa 40-26 including 25 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American-Hungarian swingman DeAndre Kane (195-89, college: Iowa St., agency: BeoBasket) who led the winners and scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. American DeShaun Thomas (201-91, college: Ohio St.) accounted for 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Five Maccabi T-A players scored in double figures. Puerto Rican point guard Angel Rodriguez (180-92, college: Miami, FL) came up with 19 points and 4 assists and American forward Reginald Buckner (206-91, college: Mississippi) added 15 points respectively for Maccabi Haifa in the defeat. Maccabi Haifa's coach Offer Rahimi let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Maccabi T-A used an opportunity after Hapoel Holon lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Maccabi Haifa at the other side stay at the bottom place with 16 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
